Hollyhocks

This weekend I met quite a few new neighbors and got to catch up with some familiar faces. In between the drama of finding a lost puppy (that I was secretly hoping may not have a home), reuniting said puppy with it's owner (who made us some fabulous home-made bread as a thank you), and doing a general clean up, I managed to collect five pots full of bluebonnet seeds that were gladly taken by some of the folks strolling by. It seems as if I am not the only one enamored by my hollyhocks--they are by far the most popular bloom in the garden right now:

And after a relaxing day in the garden, we ended the evening with a cook out and outdoor movie. The perfect way to end the day:
